Before we can begin by identifying tips, let us start with the definition of PR. Public relations can simply be defined as a relationship between the public and the business. One may also define it as the opposite of advertising. In advertising we pay to have our messages placed in a newspaper, radio or TV. In public relations, the article that features our company is not paid for.http://goo.gl/3ZoNhp

Five tips to consider when studying Public Relations
Have good communication skills
Public relations practitioners have to have good communication skills because PRP's work with different people and also engage with the public. The role of PRP's may involve dealing with the journalists and presenting clients.
Good writing skills
Public relations practitioners are expected to write articles for newsletters and also write press releases. We do not want to make spelling and grammatical errors now, do we? So it is important to have good writing skills as this paints a positive picture for the PRP.
Be on time
As a Public relations practitioner, one has to meet the deadlines. This means that PRP's have to be willing to work under pressure and multitask. Deadlines cannot be postponed because one is busy with the other article, if the workload is too much, then multitasking will help.
Be creative
A PRP have to be creative and be able to come up with different and interesting topics to write about. Being creative does not mean one has to forget professionalism. Be professional while being creative. Come up with ideas of solving problems or improving situations.http://goo.gl/nRMlry
Be approachable
A public Relations practitioner has to be friendly with the public as well as colleagues. When one is approachable, they will have the ability to work with a team. Remember, working with a team is important because that is where new ideas come from.

I honestly think PR has changed it going to keep on changing with the inclusion of Social Media it makes it even more easier for PRP's to stay in touch with their target audiences. The thing is about PR it no longer the same it changes, so if someone wants to step in the world of the "unknown" this is the best profession. They also have to be flexible, because everything can change in split second.
